Atlanta, GA, November 9, 2011 – Once again, the American Dream is under attack. Cain naysayers hope to ‘slay the dreamer.’ The establishment is horrified by Mr. Cain because of what he represents. Mr. Cain is the epitome of the American dream; he grew up poor, worked his way up to success through hard work using a work ethic he inherited from his father and mother. He’s a true bootstraps story.

Mr. Cain is the fulfillment of Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream. He lived the Black American experience in the South and, by the content of his character – not the color of his skin, he has studied hard, worked hard, successfully run corporations, had a successful radio show and now aspires to the office of President of the United States. Like Martin Luther King, Mr. Cain graduated from Morehouse College, is a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and is not a politician. Mr. Cain has done all this because he loves this country and not out of some sense of self-importance.

If the general presidential election features two black men of opposing political views and Black America has an honest political debate, the Democrats would lose a portion of their 90% stranglehold on the Black vote.

If we have an honest discussion on whether the war on poverty should be fought with welfare or with economic growth in the private sector, Democrats will lose Black votes. When Mr. Cain says that our welfare system has held blacks back, and that it promotes single parent households, that it kills incentive and breeds a culture of, helplessness; he is correct. As this truth resonates, the establishment knows that we will see more blacks becoming economic conservatives. So their answer? Slay the dreamer.

When Mr. Cain says that abortion is bad business, and is hurting America and denying our youngest the civil right to, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, that is a dangerous discussion.

This is all a dangerous discussion for President Obama and the establishment to have. A strong, charismatic Black conservative like Mr. Cain on such a large platform is dangerous; he threatens their voting bloc. Not only does the Cain policy threaten them, but also the fact that his life story personifies his policy rocks the establishment. What are their options? Mr. Cain’s opponents will use the media in their attempts to assassinate Mr. Cain’s character.

Sounds like history in action here; Joseph was accused of sexual harassment by Potiphar’s wife. Sampson was targeted by Delilah. Am I suggesting that sexual harassment doesn’t exist? Of course not: I was a victim of what some consider to be sexual harassment as a young woman.

When I went for a job interview, the male interviewer commented that I had pretty legs, and he looked at my legs. I responded in this manner: Sir, I am someone’s wife, mother and daughter. Would you like the women you care about to have an experience like this? His eyes immediately turned to my job application and he asked: “when can you report for your competence exam?” I was offered that job. No court, no attempt to destroy his character, just a correction which was received.

These baseless allegations about Mr. Cain remind us of the story of The Crucible, where many people lied and said they “saw Goody dance with the devil”, when in fact they were trying to cover up acts which they themselves were involved in, with the hopes that the strength of numbers of the accusers would lead to hysteria and make their allegations more believable. The Crucible teaches us that we must not be swayed by the number of the accusers but the validity of the accusations. These are political ploys by the establishment to attempt a high tech lynching akin to racial profiling in a vicious attempt to eliminate this man who has the courage to present life affirming solutions for America’s problems.

Alveda King: “Occupy” Movement Must Turn Away From Violence

ATLANTA – Dr. Alveda King, director of African-American Outreach for Priests for Life and founder of King for America, said the Occupy Wall Street movement must embrace prayer and disavow violence if it hopes to emulate the 20th century Civil Rights Movement.

“The whole Civil Rights movement was founded in prayer, in crying out to God in peace,” Dr. King said today during an interview on “Fox & Friends.” “This movement is not peaceful,” she said of Occupy Wall Street.

Dr. King, the niece of Rev. Dr. Martin King Jr., was invited on the show to discuss comments made by Rev. Jesse Jackson last week in Atlanta, comparing the two movements and insisting that Martin Luther King would have supported Occupy Wall Street.

“Rev. Jackson knows this is not the model my uncle upheld, or that my father, Rev. A.D. King, upheld,” she said. “The people who came out are hurting, they need answers. They need help, not to be incited to violence. They need a leader who is going to lead them peacefully.

Calling him “a civil wrong leader on this point,” Dr. King said, “Rev. Jackson needs to revisit his 20th century history.”

Dr. King also noted that the pro-life movement has adopted the prayerful, peaceful model of the Civil Rights movement as it works to end abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide and embryonic stem cell research.

The ’60s were an incredible time for black people. We were truly united in breaking down color barriers and the walls of inequality. We demanded our right to life and liberty and we pursued happiness. America opened her doors. While some of those doors flung open with ease — most had to be pried open with a crowbar or destroyed by a battering ram.

In pursuit of the American Dream we didn’t even notice the black hole of abortion swallowing us up — butchering black babies by the millions. Even our clergy and community leaders became blinded by the money, greed and political power that dangled in front of them. Black doctors, lawyers, educators, movie stars and business owners — looked to own the “Huxtable” life style of bigger houses, powerful titles, and flashier cars.

Hallelujah! We weren’t slaves anymore, we weren’t second class citizens anymore, but we weren’t “average” Americans either — instead we became a sought after voting block. We were so blinded by the bling of our own selfishness that we never even noticed that not everybody boarded the freedom train.

Our so-called black leaders even side-stepped Martin Luther King’s “Dream” for America — they focused on becoming self important demi-gods and didn’t care who they had to step on or how many little bodies had to be crushed to get there. Even members of the clergy turned their backs on the truth of God to satisfy their own appetite for massive churches preaching hollow God-less messages of live for today, garner wealth today — kill your child today — if he’s in your way, it’s okay!

According to the Bible children are “wealth.” According to God’s word children are a “heritage” and a “reward” and a “gift!”

The truth is Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger initiated the Negro Project in 1939. She hired black ministers and community leaders to sell abortion and sterilization to black congregations and neighborhoods in order to keep in her words, “human weeds” from growing — to eliminate us as a people. Black ministers back then bought in to her idea hook, line and sinker — and indeed, we have sunk — to the very depths of hell.

Today Planned Parenthood’s business model is still the same. Planned Parenthood still hires blacks to be the “delivery boy” with the message that if you are pregnant and young, single or poor the only answer is to kill your child. They say to hell with what God wants for you and His precious “gift” — kill that baby!

The Alan Gutmacher Institute which is the research arm of Planned Parenthood admits that more than 75% of all abortion clinics are purposefully placed in black/minority neighborhoods. Planned Parenthood workers have been caught on tape salivating … ready to receive money donated to specifically kill black babies.

Former black leader and Presidential hopeful Rev. Jesse Jackson once spoke adamantly and passionately about the un-Godly act of abortion. He stated: “Life is the highest human good not on its own naturalistic merits, but because life is supernatural, a gift from God.” He went on to say, “It takes three to make a baby: a man, a woman and the Holy Spirit.” He was a powerhouse — until he ran for President in 1984 — deciding that his political aspirations were much more important than the lives of babies and even more important than his relationship with the God he once served. Like Judas, he betrayed the innocent for 30 pieces of silver.

Enter Herman Cain. For the first time in a very long time we are seeing a different kind of candidate. He is fearless in that he is not shying away from difficult questions or issues. Planned Parenthood is a billion dollar abortion chain that has had a genocidal impact on the black community and Cain is not afraid to say so. Children are denied their most basic human right — which is the right to life; a right which our ancestors so proudly worked for, marched for and many of them died for.

Herman Cain realizes every American is an important and a vital piece of the fabric that makes this country great. Herman Cain is on the freedom train. He is a courageous business man — with a plan for all of America and I want that in a president.

Priests for Life Applauds Illinois Bishops

Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement today in support of Cardinal Francis George and five Illinois bishops who have said that Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn, in agreeing to present an award at an upcoming event for a pro-abortion political action committee, was “rewarding those deemed most successful in this terrible work” of abortion.

“We at Priests for Life thank the bishops of Illinois for their clear and firm stand in regard to Gov. Quinn,” Father Pavone said. “The faithful around the country are encouraged by actions like these that not only protect the integrity of the Church’s witness to her teachings, but also save human lives. The Governor’s actions not only contradict Catholic teaching; they contradict the meaning of public office. We need public servants who can tell the difference between serving the public and killing the public.

“Moreover, as a worldwide network of priests, the Priests for Life association is ready to help our brother priests to carry out the policy articulated by the bishops, and to do so in a way that is clear and compassionate.”

Gov. Quinn, who is Catholic, has agreed to present an award Nov. 17 at an event held by Personal PAC, a political action committee that works to elect pro-choice candidates in Illinois.

Taking ‘personhood’ back

Here is an article Fr. Frank wrote about ‘personhood.’ An issue that has grabbed more traction in recent days. Specifically, Mississippi’s Amendment 26. Pastor Walter Hoye of Personhood USA has been working in California with the same goal as the Mississippi amendment. My friend Walter is a humble leading voice in the Personhood Movement!

I recently did an awareness ad to support the Personhood message. In it, I noted that:

In America we protect the eggs of certain animals but we don’t protect our own unborn children. There’s something wrong with that.

Fr. Frank is right. Let’s start with protecting the obvious. The approximately 3,700 human people who are being killed daily by abortion are little people, little human beings. They are “persons” just as you and I are “persons” and should be protected by law.

The first challenge in the debate over “personhood” initiatives for human life in its earliest stages is to actually engage the issue, rather than reactively dismiss it with labels like “extreme.”

First, this is not a dispute about when the life of an individual human being starts. That’s settled scientifically.

The widely used medical textbook The Developing Human, Clinically Oriented Embryology states at page 2 that “A zygote is the beginning of a new human being….” At page 18 this theme is repeated: “Human development begins at fertilization….” (6th Edition, Moore, Persaud, Saunders, 1998).

Nor is this a dispute about the state imposing a religious or philosophical view. After all, your life and mine are not protected because of some religious or philosophical belief that others are required to have about us. More accurately, the law protects us precisely in spite of the beliefs of others who, in their own worldview, may not value our lives.

Nor is this about condemning those who have abortions. My ministry, and that of many other pro-life groups, actively reach out with compassion to bring alternatives to abortion and to bring forgiveness and healing to those who have had abortions.

The question at hand is whether the law will protect every human being as a legal person.

The 14th amendment to the Constitution states in part, “nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” The fact that the law does not protect children in the womb from abortion is rooted in the words of the 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision, “the word person as used in the Fourteenth Amendment does not include the unborn.”

Ironically, eight months before Roe vs. Wade, personhood was also discussed in relation to protecting the environment. In the decision, Sierra Club vs. Morton , Justice Douglas argued the following words in his dissent:

“The ordinary corporation is a “person” for purposes of the adjudicatory process. So it should be as respects valleys, alpine meadows, rivers, lakes, estuaries, beaches, ridges, groves of trees, swampland, or even air that feels the destructive pressures of modern technology and modern life…With all respect, the problem is to make certain that the inanimate objects, which are the very core of America’s beauty, have spokesmen before they are destroyed…”

Eight months later, he ruled with the majority in Roe vs. Wade that “the word person does not include the unborn.”

There is a stunning arbitrariness to this decision, and a stunning implication about the power of the government. To support Roe vs. Wade is not merely to allow a medical procedure. It is to acknowledge that the government has the power to say who is a person and who is not. Who, then, is to limit the groups to whom it is applied? This is what makes “personhood” such an important public policy issue.

Some object because of the unenforceability of protecting new human beings who may be destroyed by various forms of birth control that prevent implantation. Here medicine and law need to work together in a difficult arena to figure out how to protect human life.

But let’s start with the obvious. Arms and legs of children in the womb throughout pregnancy are being ripped off each day by abortion. Will we persist in the fantasy that these are not human persons who should enjoy equal protection? And indeed, both medicine and law are moving in the direction of recognizing the status of the unborn more clearly.

Fact Checker Spins Deceptive Abortion Web

I was outraged by an opinion article by Fact Checker’s Glenn Kessler in which he supposedly checked the facts about the comments Herman Cain said in an interview with Face the Nation’s host Bob Schieffer. The comments that were “fact checked” were comments related to Planned Parenthood’s eugenics history, their continued desire to facilitate abortions instead of really helping women, and the placement of a majority of their abortion clinics in minority neighborhoods, namely Black communities.

I wrote “fact checked” because Mr. Kessler didn’t just give us the facts but added his own opinion and then back up his claims by a statement made by and abortion business itself that Cain criticized. Why wasn’t any pro-life organizations contacted to validate Cain’s statements. Even a reader felt the article was skewed when he said, “something is really off about this article . . . this time, he gave us spin….”

What Herman Cain said in his interview was accurate. The abortion industry and the pro-abortion supporters can spin it any way they want but the truth is the truth. The statement about the clinics is verified by a report by Life Dynamics. Planned Parenthood does target the Black community and has been documented as accepting donations specifically earmarked for the abortion of a black baby.

A new video released by the National Black Pro-Life Coalition, “We’ve Been Guttmacher’d” speaks to the issue of clinic locations and their black population.

Another point is the article is the statement by Veronica Byrd, director of African American media, where she said that my uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. praised Margaret Sanger’s work. For years they have been trying to say that Uncle Martin supported their work and would still support it today. They point to his receiving the PPFA Margaret Sanger Award as proof of his support. I have been writing and blogging about this for years trying to set the record straight. Check out these two links HERE and HERE to find out the real truth about the award.

My uncle once said, “The Negro cannot win . . . if he is willing to sell the future of his children for his personal and immediate comfort and safety.” Abortion is decimating the Black community. Aborting a baby for one’s own personal comfort and safety is not something that my uncle would approve of.

Abby Johnson, a former director of a Texas Planned Parenthood abortions clinic has also spoken out against the “more” abortions mentality of the abortion giant. As a former director she has an inside track on their business model. After seeing an ultrasound guided abortion, she knew she could no longer work for Planned Parenthood. She left her job and placed her life in God’s hands. You can read her story in unPlanned.

In his article, Kessler quotes Ellen Chesler, board member for Planned Parenthood and Sanger’s biographers, “There is no denying that she allowed herself to become caught up [downplaying her role] in the eugenic zeal of the day and occasionally used language open to far less laudable interpretations,” including at one point saying birth control would lead to the creation of a “race of thoroughbreds.”

Sanger did much more that “become caught up” in the eugenics movement. She was a staunch advocate of the movement. A quick Google search of her name brings up many websites that talk about her. I like these ones in particular, Page1 and Page2.

And as for her ‘language’ being “open to far less laudable interpretations,” I don’t know too many ways to interpret her saying that “colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated. Other sayings hard to interpret any other way are in Page1 link above.

Additionally, Kessler tries to make you believe that Margaret Sanger was not racist by saying, “As with any historical figure, it is important to place Sanger’s views and attitudes in the context of her times.” In her times, she spoke at a KKK rally and wrote in an autobiography about the event, “I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan…I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses…I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak…In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered.” (Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366)

Examining another historical figure, Adolf Hitler, I’m sure that Kessler would say that Hitler probably didn’t really want to kill the Jews just because he ordered their deaths once you look at his views and attitudes in the context of his times.

Guttmacher Institute’s Distortions Exposed in New Video by National Black Prolife Coalition

MEDIA ADVISORY, Nov. 1, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ — Over the weekend, presidential candidate Herman Cain referred to Planned Parenthood as “Planned Genocide.” The National Black Prolife Coalition illuminates this horrific truth through their “NUMBERS DON’T LIE” video series. The third installment in this series, created by The Radiance Foundation, has been released today, entitled: “WE’VE BEEN GUTTMACHER’D.” It exposes the pro-abortion distortions of the Guttmacher Institute.

“Planned Parenthood’s Negro Project 2.0 Director lashed out at Cain for using ‘inflammatory and divisive language.’ In the real world, we call this language ‘truth.’ Guttmacher began as a pseudo-scientific arm of Planned Parenthood and, today, gives legs to the abortion giant’s propaganda,” said Ryan Bomberger of The Radiance Foundation.

The Guttmacher Institute was founded by Alan F. Guttmacher, vice president of the American Eugenics Society and the first president of Planned Parenthood (1962-1974). Its current president, Sharon Camp, was caught lying about its present relationship to Planned Parenthood claiming it was “completely unaffiliated” with PPFA since 2004-2005. IRS records show, however, that Guttmacher has received over $2.1 million from the nation’s largest abortion chain since 2004.

“Black America is waking up to the truth. Sharpton, Veazey, Jesse Jackson, Veronica Byrd and other pro-abortion voices are pretending to support civil rights while standing for civil wrong,” said Stephen Broden, pastor of Fair Park Bible Fellowship.

The National Black Prolife Coalition wants to end the epidemic levels of abortion in the black community and abolish the human injustice society-wide. There are life-affirming alternatives as seen in pregnancy care centers, maternity homes and adoption agencies which provide care to thousands of women and babies, every day, in the US.

“Cain has dared to defy the abortion establishment and speak about the atrocities they commit every day. Our communities deserve physicians who heal, not abortionists who butcher our very future,” said Day Gardner of the National Black Prolife Union.

The video addresses numerous contradictions by Guttmacher. A recent national study confirms that most abortion clinics are located in disproportionately black areas. Guttmacher, itself, declared in January 2011 that “abortion services are concentrated in cities” then issued another advisory contradicting their own claim.

“I have a dream that America will soon wake up from the nightmare of abortion and all the blood, pain and death associated with the decimation of precious human life in our nation,” said Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American Outreach for King for America. “We truly have been Guttmacher’d!”
