NEW YORK — Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, this morning signed on to a letter to Catholic educators to implore them to stop inviting to campus and honoring pro-abortion politicians and public figures.

The letter is a response to decisions made at Georgetown and Notre Dame universities, among others, to invite Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards to speak to students and to honor pro-abortion Vice President Joseph Biden.

The signatories include some of the most prominent Catholic and pro-life leaders in the nation, who are asking their campus colleagues to uphold “the sacred dignity of all human life and of the divinely ordered institution of marriage” and to refuse “to honor and award speaking platforms to public advocates of abortion and same-sex marriage.”

Father Pavone said:

“Pro-abortion politicians not only violate Catholic faith and Christian teaching, but also the very meaning and purpose of public service and government. Catholic universities should avoid these scandals not only because it contradicts Catholic teaching but contradicts humanity. To have academic discussions about terrorism, do we give places of honor to terrorists? Of course not. Nor should we do so for those who permit abortion.”
