Dr. Alveda King to Address the Restoring Honor Rally at the Lincoln Memorial August 28

Priests for Life

Date: August 20, 2010

Atlanta, GA – Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life, issued the following statement today on her upcoming appearance at the August 28th Restoring Honor Rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial organized by commentator Glenn Beck.

“Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy, like the Lincoln Memorial itself, belongs to all Americans. I am participating in Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally not to advance any political agenda, but to advance the concept of honor in our nation.

“The Book of Proverbs teaches that before honor comes humility. The Restoring Honor Rally has been organized for the purpose of giving honor to those who have humbled themselves to serve each and every one of us by defending our freedoms. If our soldiers don’t deserve honor, I don’t know who does.

“My Uncle Martin’s dream was not that we should be judged by our support for bigger or smaller government, but rather by the content of our character. His dream was that everyone be guaranteed the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. His dream goes beyond politics, it’s about the condition of our hearts. That is what I intend to address on August 28.”

Thank you sincerely, Dr. King. Thank you for standing for the truth and for standing for liberty. I am truly concerned for the direction of our country when a celebration of honor becomes another cause for controversy. Every controversy these days seems to lead to a new reason to call someone a bigot, which is so far from your uncle’s dream. When someone like you comes forward bravely with the truth, I’m am reassured once again and reminded of your honorable uncle. Thank you so much and God bless!

    Dear Alveda,
The Good Lord placed a mighty work in my Heart on 8-12-2010.
It is His Inspired Words in my song, lyrics to the tune of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” to be introduced at Glenn’s 8-28 Honoring Rally. I have sent You a facebook message & also e-mails asking for Your help in getting this into Glenn Beck’s hands. Once You read the song, I know without any doubt, You & Glenn shall witness God’s Will in it all.
With time drawing near to the 8-28 event, I will now post my song on Your facebook site & Pray with everything within me that this song becomes Everyone’s Inspiration, starting on 8-27 and 8-28 !!!
May God FOREVER Bless You, Your Precious Family & Works…
In Christ Jesus Holy Name I Pray… Amen <
