STATEN ISLAND, NY – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, will be the keynote speaker at Friday’s March for Life in Charlotte.
“The commitment of the Charlotte community to end abortion should serve as an example to the rest of the country,” said Father Pavone, who also will take part in this year’s Walk for Life in San Francisco on Jan. 22 and the March for Life in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 24.
“In Charlotte, we will march despite the fact that some people tell us it’s none of our business. We will march because we know what our business is. Ours is the business of love. Ours is the business of justice. We can’t turn in the other direction and pretend that protecting the unborn is none of our business.”
The March will be preceded by a mass at 9 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church. The March itself will begin at noon at the corner of West Palmer and Church streets. For information, go to www.marchforlifecharlotte.org .
Since he took over as national director in 1993, Father Pavone has transformed Priests for Life into an internationally recognized organization that fights for the rights of unborn children, and of their mothers and fathers, and has become a family of ministries serving the Church worldwide. Priests for Life is the largest ministry in the Catholic Church working to end abortion and euthanasia.
Priests for Life empowers priests, seminarians, deacons and lay leaders to become more effective champions of life. Priests for Life also operates the world’s largest ministry for healing after abortion –Rachel’s’ Vineyard. In partnership with Anglicans for Life, Priests for Life also coordinates the worldwide Silent No More Awareness Campaign, whereby those who have been healed give public witness about how abortion hurt them.
Through its African-American Outreach and this year’s Freedom Rides for the Unborn, Priests for Life has helped light a fire in a community that is being decimated by abortion. Its Hispanic outreach is making dramatic inroads into the Latin American communities both in the United States and abroad. Priests for Life has a presence, and a voice, at the United Nations and throughout the world. Its newest satellite is in Vienna, Austria.
