Pro-Life Legend, Dr. Mildred F. Jefferson, 84, Died October 15, 2010

Dear Friends,

Our dear sweet friend and pro-life giant Dr. Mildred F. Jefferson, 84, died suddenly on October 15, 2010. She was the first black woman to graduate from Harvard Medical School. She was a surgeon who gave up her practice to fight abortion and one of the founders of National Right to Life Committee. A true fighter for the unborn, Dr Jefferson was sought out as a speaker for many right to life conferences and banquets. Please help me memorialize this great American unsung hero in pomp and circumstance due her legacy. Please call Dr. Shelli J. Manuel at 918-493-1004. We’re planning various activities and broadcast which you may wish to participate in.

    Dear Dr. King,
Thank you so much for introducing me to the life of Dr. Mildred F. Jefferson by way of your blog at Priests for Life! I had no previous knowledge of Dr. Jefferson or her courageous contribution to the pro-life cause. I am humbled by the sacrifice she made to give up her medical career to devote her life to this holy ministry. I am confident that she is in the eternal presence of God and is praying for you and Father Frank and all the Priests for Life staff to continue the selfless work of defending life.
