TITUSVILLE, FL -- Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement today regarding a bill introduced in the Virginia House of Delegates that would expand access to late-term abortion in the state:
“As the videotaped testimony of Virginia Delegate Kathy Tran, a Democrat, goes viral across the country, Americans have the rare opportunity of hearing what abortion proponents mean when they talk about abortion.
“Ms. Tran, answering questions about a bill she has submitted that would do away with any abortion restriction, is forced to admit that a pregnant woman in active labor would legally be able to have an abortion even as her cervix was dilating in preparation for birth.
“The Repeal Act also would eliminate informed-consent and clinic-safety requirements, allow late-term abortions to be performed in outpatient clinics, and allow women to have abortions without waiting 24 hours and without having an ultrasound.
“As we’ve seen already in New York, this is what happens when we elect Democrats to public office. They are out of their minds, and the children in the womb pay the price.”
