PreNDA Bill Brings the Civil Rights Battle to the Forefront Says Dr. King

The Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act authored by Congressman Trent Franks and other distinguished members of Congress is a brave and honest approach to the solutions to the violations of the civil rights of America’s weakest population, the pre-born,” says Dr. Alveda King, Pastoral Associate for Priests for Life, Founder of Alveda King Ministries, and niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Sex-selection is increasingly a reason women seek abortions, especially among immigrant populations from cultures that prefer a child of one gender over another. Growing evidence shows that many babies are now targeted for abortion for race-selection as well. In the ongoing battles to ensure that all Americans’ civil rights are protected, our focus must be on the horrific nature of race-selection abortion, and the deliberate targeting of minority communities. We publicly abhor slavery and mount campaigns to end racism, yet America often denies the little victims in the womb their civil rights to live,” Dr. King explained.

“Women and minorities have been victims of discrimination for centuries. Now the battle is being forged in the womb as well. Equal opportunity should be for everyone, no matter how small they are. Add to this the racist practice of eugenics where minority babies are targeted for the abortion mills, and you have blatant disregard for the civil rights of an American population. The Alan Guttmacher Institute, along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), shows that a huge majority of abortion clinics are located in minority neighborhoods and some experts estimate the number at higher than 75%. The rationale is that blacks and other minorities are poorer and cannot afford abortions, so the clinics invade their communities. Since when is killing a person the answer to providing civil rights for a people or group?

Race and sex targeting are barbaric and do nothing to protect the health of the mother. They are simply discriminatory practices. Because the official policy of the United States is to eliminate race-based discrimination, wherein U.S. law prohibits the dissimilar treatment of persons of different races who are similarly situated, and United States law prohibits discrimination on the basis of race in various contexts, including the provision of employment, education, housing, health insurance coverage, and athletics, then equality under the law should not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, even in the instance of abortion.

The Alan Guttmacher Institute reports that 37 percent of all abortions performed in America are on Black women. This amounts to a huge profit for the abortion industry of over $4,000,000,000 (yes, billion) from the Black community for abortions alone. What could America do to help people with that kind of money? Failing school systems, school drop-outs, the war on drugs, need we go on?

“The civil rights movement is again front and center, on the side of the girl babies and the minority babies. We’re signing on today to plead their case. While a woman has the right to choose what she does with her body, the babies are not her body.
