Barren, Bitter, Broken and Finally Blessed

Barren, Bitter, Broken and Finally Blessed

Isaiah 54:1-5 “Sing o barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband says the Lord… For you maker is your first husband…”

At a recent African American Summit hosted by Care-Net, UNPLANNED Author Abby Johnson answered some tough questions about artificial birth control methods and abortion. Abby talked about her own infertility due to side affects of chemical birth control methods, as well as her abortions.

Abortion is often used as a means of birth control, and is in fact the ultimate form of birth control, resulting in the violent death of a baby who is snatched from the sanctuary of his or her mother’s womb. Barren women suffer these events in painful secrecy until the day comes when they can be silent no more and break the bonds of pain. Once the silence is broken and the healing comes, then victory follows.

Like Abby, I have suffered side effects from chemical birth control methods and my abortions. Read about how this barren, bitter and broken woman became blessed to be silent no more at “how can the dream survive if we murder the children?”
