An amazing thing happened in Baltimore this week. Our leadership team was part of an unlikely coalition of leaders where we spoke at two panel discussions/community forums regarding the state of Baltimore, the nation and the world.
While sitting among leaders from the political, law enforcement community, spiritual, economic, and yes the NAACP; I realized my Uncle MLK was on to something when he said that “we are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.”
That garment was on us as we met and talked together in Baltimore. A highlight of what turned out to be another leg of my “Peace and Justice Book Tour” was the opportunity to read excerpts from my KING RULES children’s book to school children at a charter school and to another group of children in front of the Billie Holiday Statue on the sometimes controversial and turbulent Pennsylvania Avenue in Baltimore.
There is hope for Baltimore, America and the world. Keep praying.
Love from the road.
