NEW YORK — The fourth annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children will take place on Saturday, September 10, with memorial services planned at dozens of gravesites across the country.

Priests for Life co-founded this national observance along with the Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society.

The annual day is set aside to recognize the humanity of the unborn and to give people an opportunity to mourn our brothers and sisters killed by abortion, and to resolve to protect those still in danger.

“Having a memorial service at a gravesite where the mangled bodies of these children are buried brings home the truth that abortion is not an abstract debate; it’s a flesh and blood tragedy, and it must end,” Fr. Pavone asserted.

“Moreover,” he continued, “this year’s memorials occur amidst the Year of Mercy. The National Day of Remembrance is an urgent invitation to all who have been involved in abortion — moms, dads, other family members, friends and abortionists — to take hold of the gifts of repentance and mercy. We are ready to help them heal and embrace life.”

Members of the Priests for Life Pastoral Team and women and men of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign will take part in the Day of Remembrance in various parts of the country.
