WASHINGTON, D.C. — At, Priests for Life has enlisted the nation’s pro-life believers in a campaign to pray for the nation as we prepare to elect a new president.

“In just a few weeks we will choose a new president, and that person will determine the course of the United States for generations to come,” said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life. “Praying together as a community of believers is one of the most important things we can do as we prepare for Election Day.”

In a related prayer campaign, Priests for Life Pastoral Associate Father Stephen Imbarrato will lead the Joyful Mysteries during a National Rosary Rally beginning at noon on Oct. 7 at the U.S. Capitol Reflecting Pool.

The rally is the culmination of the 54 Day Novena for Our Nation that began Aug. 15.

Father Imbarrato has been an organizer of the novena and rally. As a full-time member of the Priests for Life team, he is one of the nation’s most outspoken advocates for the unborn. Prior to joining Priests for Life in 2015, he founded several pro-life organizations in Albuquerque, where he continues to live and which he describes as “the late-term abortion capital of the United States.”

Also known as the “protest priest,” Father Imbarrato knows the importance of prayer. He wrote a special prayer for the event, and during the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, he will pray for intentions that include that mothers and fathers will stop aborting their pre-born children; that our government and fellow citizens will come to recognize the personhood of the child in the womb; that laws will be enacted to protect the unborn, the elderly and the weak, and that government and church leaders will be emboldened to speak out on behalf of the culture of life.

“These prayer efforts — the 54 Day Novena for Our Nation, the National Rosary Rally, and, come at a critical time of crisis in our country,” Father Imbarrato said. “I cannot think of a more powerful response on the part of Catholics than to pray, fast and come together for the conversion of our nation.”
