Alan Sears will be honored at National Memorial for the Pre-Born

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Alan Sears, founder and former CEO and general counsel of Alliance Defending Freedom, will receive the 2018 National Pro-Life Recognition Award during the National Memorial for the Pre-Born on Friday, Jan. 19 at DAR Constitution Hall.

“Each year, this award is given to someone who has served the pro-life movement in an exemplary way,” said Father Frank Pavone, President of the National Pro-Life Religious Council, which bestows the annual honor along with Priests for Life. “Alan’s service to the unborn is unquantifiable.”

At the helm of ADF, Mr. Sears worked to protect women, the unborn and those who stand for life, and led the charge in an ongoing battle to expose and defund Planned Parenthood.

“I am deeply humbled and honored to be selected to receive the National Pro-Life Recognition Award,” Mr. Sears said. “I will be accepting it on behalf of the entire Alliance Defending Freedom team, which has stood with me in the great battles that determine the future of freedom, of life and of family.”

The 24th annual National Memorial for the Pre-Born, the nation’s premiere interdenominational service, will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, with a Catholic Mass beginning at 7:30. The service, held every year on the morning of the March for Life, brings together clergy from dozens of denominations.

Special guests this year will be Jason and David Benham, and Christian recording and YouTube artist Joyce Im Bartholomew. Father Pavone, who is also the national director of Priests for Life, will preach the sermon.
The National Memorial is sponsored every year by the National Pro-Life Religious Council and Priests for Life. Co-sponsoring organizations this year include the Jubilee Campaign Law of Life Project; Life Issues Institute; City Life Center, Minneapolis, MN, National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) and Solidarity Health Share.

Tickets are not required and large groups can be easily accommodated at DAR Hall, which is located at 1776 D Street NW (at 18th Street) in Washington.

Priests for Life is the nation’s largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia. For more information, visit
