TITUSVILLE, FL – Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, today congratulated Judge Kenneth Lee on his confirmation to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and thanked the Senate GOP for confirming Lee.

“President Trump’s judicial nominees have been restoring balance to the nation’s federal court system, and Judge Lee’s confirmation continues that process,” Father Pavone said. “He is more than qualified for the federal bench and I have no doubt he will be a fair and impartial interpreter of the U.S. Constitution and our laws.

“I also would like to thank Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and all the Senate Republicans for refusing to allow the Democrats’ obstructionism to keep Judge Lee off the bench.”

Prior to today’s vote, President Trump had already seated four judges on the Ninth Circuit – Ryan Nelson, Mark Bennett, Eric Miller and Bridget Bade – and two more, Daniel Collins and Daniel Bress, are awaiting confirmation on that same court. There is also yet another seat on the Ninth Circuit to which the president will make another nomination.

Father Pavone pointed out that the court widely known for its opinions favoring liberal causes could be looking at 13 Republican-nominated judges on a bench with 29 judges, 16 of whom have been appointed by Democratic presidents.

“The Ninth Circuit is approaching parity, which points out how important elections are,” he said. “With a second term, President Trump will be able to continue the historic progress he has made to return the judiciary to its rightful place. Judges and courts that legislate from the bench have no place in our government.”
