Evangelist Alveda King, full-time Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn for Priests for Life, will be the keynote speaker on Friday, July 26, for the 17th annual “Salute to the Family” gala in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Ms. King will speak about life, values, family and freedom during the event at James Madison University.
Prior to the dinner, she will take part in a press conference on the “One Blood, One Race Initiative Affirmation” with Christian strategist Dennis Peacocke.
“Everyone sees the need to recognize we are all of the same blood and the same race, the human race,” said Pastor Travis Witt of Gilboa Church in Cuckoo, Virginia, referring to Acts 17:26 – “From one man He made all the nations.”
Pastor Witt said Mr. Peacocke often speaks of humanity as “one blood” and Ms. King talks about “one race” in her speaking and writing.
“What we need to talk about,” Pastor Witt said, “is how to address racism in this country in ways that are different than we have done it before.
On Saturday, July 27, Ms. King will give opening and closing remarks at an “Elders at the Gate” event at Victory Worship Center in Staunton, Virginia.
